The secret is over. After much suspense surrounding the long-awaited revelation that Conor McGregor would do after UFC 205, held this Saturday in New York (USA), the Irishman confirmed the rumors and ended the mystery: he will be a father at the beginning of 2017.

“There are some bombs I wanted to drop. One of the announcements is that I will be a father at the beginning of next year. I'm shitting my pants, I don't know what I'm going to have to do, because I don't want to bring my son into the world in the middle of all this, I don't want this to turn into one of those celebrity reality shows, I hate it! I don't want to put my family through this. I want this baby to be very happy, I’m going to take some time and see how it goes”, he declared during the press conference after UFC 205.

However, the mysterious revelation did not stop there. After knocking out Eddie Alvarez in the main fight of the night and making history by becoming the first fighter to win two UFC belts simultaneously (featherweight and lightweight), Conor McGregor said he has plans to become a kind of Ultimate partner. Responsible for the biggest pay-per-view sales in the organization's history, Conor wants to receive a portion of the company's overall profits.

The new owners haven't come to talk to me since the company was sold, and as a businessman, I've accomplished something. Who owns the company now? There are people who bought plots, where is my share? Where is my participation? They need to come to me. I'm starting a family, with a child on the way, I want to be a homeowner, I've achieved that. I want the part I deserve”, teased the fighter.

When asked if the time he will be away is related to any injury, the Irishman made a point of highlighting that no, that the decision is exclusively due to his family.

“I'm young. My left hand and left foot were injured after the fight against Nate diaz. I found ways to fight despite this. You suffer injuries in these wars. But I have several ways to attack and win. But now, to be honest, I'm brand new. I don't have any scratches! For a 28-year-old with all the belts and all the records, in a game like this, I can keep doing this all day long. But, I’m a man of my word, I have a family coming, so I want what’s mine, if they want me back,” he concluded.
