The story is written. After much provocation, Conor McGregor, who was already the UFC featherweight champion, established his name among the greatest of all time by becoming the first fighter to win two UFC belts simultaneously. With an impeccable performance, McGregor put on a show in the octagon and knocked out Eddie Alvarez at 3m4s of the second round in the main fight of UFC 205, this Saturday, in New York (USA), becoming the organization's new lightweight champion.
“Where is my second belt? I earn you 4,2 billion dollars and you don't give me a f… my belt? I just won and you already want to take it away from me. They are not at my level. You better improve your size, weight or whatever, because otherwise I'll destroy you all. Eddie is a warrior, but he shouldn't be here with me. Thanks for coming, I love you all. I spent a lot of time talking bad about a lot of people, I ridiculed a lot of people here, but I would like not to apologize to anyone at all”, said McGregor in the post-fight interview.

Just like McGregor, the edition held at Madison Square Garden is also already marked as one of the biggest events of all time. With three title fights and electrifying battles, the event will remain etched in the memory of sports fans for a long time.
The fight
Alvarez started with a low kick that knocked McGregor off balance. The fight continued with a lot of study on both sides, until a straight left from McGregor found the rest of Alvarez, who fell. The Irishman went up to define the fight, but the American recovered quickly and got back on his feet. But not for long. Conor landed another clean left on Alvarez, who fell again. Underneath, Eddie hid his face and managed to stand up. With the fight going on painfully, Alvarez, visibly shaken, continued to be cornered by the Irishman, who continued to punish his rival with accurate blows until the end of the round.
The fight resumed with McGregor dominating the center of the octagon and landing a good straight left on Alvarez, who felt it again. Seeking to emotionally destabilize his opponent, Conor put both hands behind his back, but Eddie didn't join his game. Next, McGregor applied a beautiful combination of blows and took down Alvarez. With the American down, it only took a few more blows to seal the victory and put his name in UFC history.
