Mark Hunt is taking his disagreement with the UFC seriously. According to the fighter's lawyer, Christina Denning, the New Zealander refused a fight with junior gypsy in December precisely because he did not reach an agreement with the main MMA organization on the planet.

Hunt and the UFC have been in a legal battle since July, when the athlete lost to Brock Lesnar at UFC 200. Shortly after the fight, it was announced that Lesnar failed separate drug tests, carried out both before and on the day of the fight. This infuriated Hunt, who then asked for part of Lesnar's salary, plus the termination of his UFC contract.

“Mark turned down a fight at UFC 206 against Júnior dos Santos because the UFC did not agree to the terms we proposed. The UFC people didn't close any doors for us. The door is open. I'm waiting for a call from the UFC with a solution”, explained the lawyer, in an interview with “SiriusXM” radio.

Asked what the proposed terms would be, Christina clarified: “Mark is getting older. He's 40 now and he's tired of fighting people he calls 'crazy'. It doesn't help at all when he has to accept a defeat against a person who fell for doping. It doesn't advance your career. So, to move forward, he wants to have contracts that offer a reward if the opponent falls into doping. He thinks it would stop fighters from violating anti-doping regulations,” she explained.

Hunt has already faced off against Cigano in the Octagon. In May 2012, the Brazilian won the duel with a knockout in the third round, obtained with a round kick to the New Zealander's head.
