The Brazilian Rousimar “Toquinho” Palhares will have a new opponent at UFC Rio. Originally scheduled to face his compatriot Alexandre “Cacareco” on the preliminary card of the night, the middleweight will now face the North American Dan Miller in the edition that will take place on August 27th at the HSBC Arena, located in Barra da Tijuca.
While “Toquinho” is coming off a submission victory (heel hook) over Dave Branch in March this year at UFC on Versus 3, Miller was defeated in his most recent career fight by his compatriot Nate Marquardt, via unanimous decision by the judges, in the UFC 128.
UFC Rio will be the organization's 134th edition and, to date, has 12 fights confirmed on its card. The night's main attraction will be the fight for the event's middleweight belt, where the current champion Anderson Silva will put his title in dispute against
