Strikeforce women's category signs Olympic medalist

Ronda Rousey with a date set at Strikeforce

the judoka Ronda Rousey is the newest member of the Strikeforce women's category. The 24-year-old American, bronze medalist at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, already has a date for her debut. The black belt is confirmed on the card for the edition that takes place on the 30th, against her compatriot Sarah D'Alelio.

In her short career in MMA, Rousey has two fights and two victories in the sport, all finished in less than a minute. In her debut, the fighter beat Brazilian Ediane India, with an arm-bar, in just 25 seconds, in the fight held in March this year. Then the judoka needed 49 seconds to overcome Charmaine Tweet, in June, also with an arm-bar.
