UFC Portland, an event held last Saturday (1), did not have a good audience on television in the United States. The main fight of the night, starring flyweights John Lineker and John Dodson, recorded the worst mark in events held on Saturdays throughout 2016.

On average, the five rounds of action, won by Lineker in the judges' decision, had 657 thousand viewers on the cable television channel “FOX Sports 1”. This number is less than half the mark reached the previous weekend, in UFC Brasilia, when 1.356.000 people watched the fight between Chris Cyborg and Lina Lansberg.

Interestingly, the UFC's worst overall audience in the United States in 2016 also featured Lineker. UFC Sioux Falls, held on a Wednesday (July 13), had 609 thousand spectators. On that occasion, Lineker knocked out Michael McDonald in the first round.
