Gomi faces Nate Diaz at UFC 135

The duel is confirmed on the main card of UFC 135, an event scheduled to take place on September 24, in Denver, United States.

Gomi arrived at the UFC in 2010 with star status, but the fighter's trajectory was not as expected by fans. The “Fireball Kid”, as he is known, debuted with defeat Kenny Florian at UFN 21, in March. Then the former Pride champion recovered and knocked out the American Tyson Griffin, at UFC on Versus 2, an event promoted in August last year. But Takanori's rehabilitation was cut short when he was again overcome by Clay guida, in January of this year.

Diaz, who is the winner of the fifth edition of The Ultimate Fighter, the UFC's reality show, is also not experiencing one of the best moments of his career. The Brazilian Cesar Gracie's pupil comes from a sequence of two defeats and needs victory to remain among the organization's athletes.
