The weigh-in for UFC Fight Night 96, an event taking place this Saturday (01) in Portland, United States, was attended by an illustrious presence. The superhero “Incredible Hulk” was 'reincarnated' in the fighter Ion cutelaba and it was the big positive highlight of the show. The “Hulk”, in order not to lose his poise, made a tense face to face with his rival from next Saturday, the American Jonathan Wilson.

If Cutelaba stole the show in a positive way, the same cannot be said for the Brazilians, who were unhappy with the scale. Of the six Brazilians scheduled for the show, three did not make weight – John Lineker, Alex Cowboy and Hacran Dias.
The case of Lineker, the protagonist of the night, is the most delicate. The Brazilian weighed 61,9kg, 230g above the category limit (61,7kg) – this was the fifth time that the Brazilian exceeded his weight in Ultimate (four times in flyweight and once in bantamweight), which could complicate his future within the organization. His opponent, the North American John Dodson, had no problems reaching the category limit and weighed 61,2kg. At the time of the face-off, the atmosphere was friendly, as is usual between the two athletes.

In the second most important attraction of the night, Brazilian Alex 'Cowboy' Oliveira had the most difficulties with his weight. He scored 73,2kg, an incredible 2,5kg higher (70,8kg). As punishment for being very overweight, Alex, in addition to losing 20% of his purse, will have to weigh himself again tomorrow, around two hours before the start of the event, and cannot weigh more than 79,3kg. Will Brooks, his opponent, weighed 70,7kg. When faced with the Brazilian, Brooks, who had already declared that the 'Cowboy' was not professional for not making weight, ignored his opponent and stood aside. Alex, visibly uncomfortable, turned and left the stage.
On the preliminary card, who also failed to make the weight cut was featherweight Hacran Dias, who weighed 67,4kg, exceeding the division's 1,2kg limit by 66,2kg. Ketlen Scallop, Elizeu Capoeira and Luis Henrique Frankenstein, the other Brazilians on the card, had no problems with their weight and had friendly confrontations with their opponents.
O UFC Fight Night 96 will be held this Saturday (01) and will start at 20:15 pm (Brasília time) with coverage from SUPER LUTAS, with reports of the fights and post-event interviews.
