Dollaway was due to face Brazilian Francimar Barroso on the show, but, shortly after the weigh-in, he suffered a mysterious injury. The American was trapped for several minutes in a hotel elevator along with several other fighters, such as Fabricio Werdum e Urijah faber.

After his release, Dollaway began to complain of pain and was diagnosed with neck and lower back problems, thus being left out of the fight. The North American's manager, Dave Martin, wants clarification about what happened, even if he has to go to court to do so.

“Someone needs to answer for what happened. I'll just say this. I still don’t even have an accident report,” said the agent.

Dollaway remained in Cleveland for several days after the incident, as he was in a lot of pain and was unable to travel by plane. Now back at home, the fighter will undergo physiotherapy sessions to recover from the injury.
