Murilo Ninja announces retirement after defeat at BAMMA 6

The Brazilian's career Murilo “Ninja” Rua had its final chapter on Saturday night (21) in England. At 31 years old and with a record of 20 wins, 12 losses and one draw, the fighter announced his retirement after being knocked out at BAMMA 6 by the Englishman Tom Watson in a fight valid for the event's middleweight belt.

Despite confirming his definitive departure from MMA, the tough guy stressed that he will continue working in favor of the sport. Ninja also highlighted his pride in his achievements during his professional career and that from now on he will spend more time with his family and helping others.

“I would like to officially announce my retirement tonight. It's been a fantastic road and this is a very difficult time. I will continue working in MMA, giving seminars, classes, training athletes and doing my part to help the sport that I love so much”, Ninja posted on his Twitter.

Of the four Brazilians present at BAMMA 6, only Leonard Santos won victory in the Land of the Queen. The Nova União athlete achieved his third positive result in a row by overcoming the Englishman Jason Ball by unanimous decision of the judges.
