The Brazilian Rani Yaya was scheduled to face the North American Dustin poirier at UFC 131, however, an injury during his training forced the fighter to cancel his participation in the fight. This would be the second opportunity in which the Tupiniquim athlete would take action in Ultimate, given that in his debut in the event the featherweight defeated Mike Brown at UFC Fight for the Troops 2, which took place in January of this year.
To replace Yahya, UFC officials called up the Englishman Jason Young. UFC 131 will be held on June 11th in Canada and will be headlined by a fight between Brazilian Junior Gypsy and the North American Brock Lesnar. The winner of this confrontation between TUF 13 coaches will be the next challenger for the UFC heavyweight belt, which is held by the American Cain Velazquez. Check out the UFC 131 card below:
