During the fight, Shields failed whenever he tried to reach GSP's range of action. His strategy of trying to fight on the ground was not successful and the North American had to risk his game on the feet.

PUBLICITY:

“I think I need to go back to my gym, train my boxing and improve more and more,” he said. “I wanted to put him down, but he dodged my first blows. I don't know why I tried to use boxing. Now I look back and see that I really screwed up. Georges is a great fighter, he fought very well, and I couldn't get close to him. He had a great game plan.”

The former Shooto, Rumble on the Rock, Elite XC and Strikeforce champion hopes to learn from his mistakes and dreams of getting another shot at the title:

PUBLICITY:

“I hope that my next fight will be completely different and then, I hope that before I retire I will get another chance to fight for the belt”, he concluded.
