Renê Nazaré dreams of making a career with Bellator

After a good debut in Bellator, when he beat compatriot Luiz Azeredo, in the 39th edition of the show, Renê Nazaré was confirmed by president Bjorn Rebney at the organization's upcoming events. Now, with a new contract, the Brazilian aims to compete in one of the tournaments in his category.

 

“I want to fight the best in the world, that’s my goal. I want to be the best and if you want to become the best, you must fight the best. I want to fight against Patricky Pitbull, Eddie Alvarez and anyone else who appears”, said the Brazilian to the North American website Sherdog.

Although fighting on the ground is his main characteristic, Renê also claims that he can surprise in striking.

“If you want to become a great MMA fighter, you have to be complete. He has to be a threat both on the ground and on his feet. My jiu-jitsu makes me very confident on the ground, even when I'm in difficult situations, but I also feel strong when the fight needs to be decided standing up,” he said.

Bellator is organized through tournaments, where each fight is eliminatory. The current event, which began on March 5th and will end on May 21st, refers to the fourth season where the champions of the following categories will be decided: Featherweight, Lightweight, Welterweight and Light Heavyweight.
