Claudinha gadelha spoke out after his statement became public leaving the Nova União academy to set up his own team - Claudia gadelha's MMA & BJJ Academy – in Pennsylvania, United States. Through a video published on her social networks, the fighter clarified the episode and made a point of highlighting that the change was not the result of a disagreement with Dedé Pederneiras, leader of the Rio team, as had been reported, but rather an old dream of setting up your own gym.

“There was no disagreement (with Dedé Pederneiras). We respect each other a lot, we worked together for ten years. Every time after my fights I stay in the United States training, improving my techniques, and that's what happened once again”, stated Gadelha.

Claudinha also clarified that she will not hold her next camp at her academy set up in the United States, as it is a project for the future. However, she admitted that she is moving away from Nova União, and said she does not know where she will train for the following fights.
