Each fighter follows a different professional path after hanging up their gloves. However, former Russian boxer Nikolai Valuev took an unusual path: he became a presenter of a children's program on television in his home country.

This fact draws even more attention due to Valuev's physical appearance, who, weighing 2,13 m and 150 kg, intimidated his opponents in the ring with his appearance. Even so, the former athlete will be in charge of the program from September onwards.”Spokoynoy nochi, malyshi”, or, in free translation, “Good Night, Little Ones”. As the name suggests, it is broadcast at the end of the day in Russia, just before children go to bed.

This is a traditional attraction in Russia, which has been broadcast since 1964. The show is around ten minutes long and also features puppets and cartoon characters. “I couldn't even imagine that I would become the host of my favorite show from when I was a child. So, have a good night, little ones”, celebrated Valuev.

Valuev, 43, ended his professional boxing career with 50 wins, two losses and one no-contest. One of his most famous victories came against Evander Holyfield, in December 2008, when he prevailed in a controversial decision by the judges.
