Possible next opponent Conor McGregor, lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez spoke out against the “Notorious”. In an interview with “The Anik and Florian Podcast” (USA), Alvarez admitted he was not impressed with McGregor's victory over Nate diaz at UFC 202, which took place last Saturday (20), and provoked his opponent by saying that he is not good enough for longer fights.

“Honestly, everything looked good in the first round, but I've said it a million times: he's not a title fighter. It's not good for fights with five five-minute rounds. It never was and never will be. He always said that I see him as an athlete to do three five-minute rounds, and that's where he should be. I think he's good, but when the fight goes beyond 8, 9 minutes, he seems to get sloppy and confused”, commented the champion.

Eddie, who had already asked to face the winner of McGregor vs. Diaz II, said that the opponents he beat are at a higher level than the executioner of José Aldo. “”I faced the best in the world. I admire a lot of the guys I face, I see them as the best and I try to challenge myself against them. But when I beat a legitimate guy, who I feel is a real fighter, and after the fight they ask me about this Irish guy, it's a little disappointing for me, because the guys I faced are of a much higher caliber than him.” , said Alvarez

Eddie Alvarez is a former Bellator champion and became UFC champion by knocking out the Brazilian in the first round Rafael dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night 90, in July of this year. In the UFC, there are three victories – over Gilbert Melendez, Anthony Pettis and Rafael himself – and a defeat against Donald Cerrone, in his debut with the organization. He still doesn't have a date to make his first title defense.
