Anderson Silva rejects fight against Jon Jones

After Jon Jones knock off Mauricio Shogun, last Saturday, and win the UFC light heavyweight belt, Lorenzo Fertitta, majority partner of Ultimate, stated that he would like to see the North American revelation face the Brazilian Anderson Silva. But despite the top hat's desire, it seems that the confrontation should not happen soon.

In an interview with the North American website MMA Convert, Anderson praised Jones and stated that he does not intend to return to the light heavyweight category.

During his career in the UFC, Anderson has already ventured into the light heavyweight category twice. The first time, at UFC Fight Night 14, in 2008, the Brazilian knocked out James Irvin in just 61 seconds of fighting. In his second appearance in the division, at UFC 101, in August 2009, Silva, in a heartthrob performance, ran over the former champion Forrest griffin and also knocked out the North American in the first round.
