The black belt Marcelo Dourado, winner of the tenth edition of Big Brother Brasil, is about to return to the MMA rings and octagons. Away from fighting since April 2009, when he was defeated by Ivan “Pitbull”, the ex-BBB man is looking for an opponent to return to competition.
“We are negotiating with some events, but these are just initial conversations”, said Dourado businessman, Fábio Quintanilha, in telephone contact with the SUPER FIGHTS.
The businessman assured that although some reports said that the fighter would be scheduled to compete in April, this information is not true.
“A newspaper reported that Dourado would fight in April, but that’s a lie. Especially because they talked about a grant of R$20 thousand, but this is a very low salary for Marcelo. This scholarship is for those who are starting out and Dourado is known throughout Brazil”, he added.
Marcelo Dourado, 38 years old, has a black belt in judo and jiu-jitsu, and despite his success on the TV Globo reality show, he was unable to establish his career as a professional MMA fighter. In their record they have only one victory and have a streak of seven consecutive defeats.
