Cyborg suffered a crushed skull in the second round of the fight against Michael Page. However, Bellator guaranteed that it will provide full financial support to Cyborg, who thus decided to give the money another destination.

“When I was 11, I started working as a shoeshine boy to help my family. I was on the streets until 10 o'clock at night when my life completely changed. I started going to an institution called Casa do Menor Trabalhador in Rondonópolis (MT), which had a library, foosball, soccer balls and prayers. I always wanted to give back for the security and direction that this project gave me, because I am a product of your work. I want to use this money that was raised to start this big dream”, explained Cyborg, to the “MMA Fighting” website.

For this reason, the fighter thanked everyone who made the donation possible. “Bellator will pay for all my bills, so I don't think it would be fair to use that money for my own benefit. Even though I lost, I was blessed with everyone's prayers. May God bless every person who sent me a positive thought, a prayer or a dollar. May God also bless the life of Cris, who was shocked by the images. Thank you for your friendship and concern”, said the athlete.
