The doping issue has come back to the forefront in recent weeks, and the UFC heavyweight Derrick Lewis took a very firm stance on this matter. For him, most athletes in his category use banned substances in order to increase their performance in the Octagon.

Two of the protagonists of the historic UFC 200 found themselves involved in doping controversies. Jon Jones He wasn't even able to fight at the event after being caught in a pre-fight exam. Lewis, who won Roy Nelson a few days before UFC 200, he criticized athletes who use banned substances. “Probably 70% [of the heavyweight category dope]. This doesn't irritate me at all. It's just stupidity on their part, because they know they will undergo random tests. They risk thousands of dollars for something stupid like that, which won’t even help them,” he said, in an interview with “The MMA Hour” podcast.

Precisely for this reason, Lewis reacted with little surprise to Lesnar's positive test. “It didn’t surprise me. There were no surprises at all. What's up man. Look at him. Everyone knows he was doping. But it doesn't affect me, I fight with anyone. I’m ready,” he added.
