White is excited about the sale of the UFC: 'It's going to take the sport to another level'

Rumors of the possible sale of the UFC were confirmed this Monday (11) and the organization was sold for US$4 billion to the WME-IMG group. Despite the sale of the franchise, Dana White will continue in his role and was very excited about the future of the organization.

In an official release sent to the press also this Monday (11), Dana White commented on the administrative transition that the organization is going through. According to the American, the UFC's goal has always been to make MMA the biggest sport in the world and he is excited to work with his new bosses.

“No other sport compares to UFC. Our goal has always been to put on the biggest and best fights for our fans, as well as making this sport the biggest in the world. I’m excited to work with WME-IMG and continue taking this sport to the next level,” he said.

The Fertitta brothers acquired the UFC in 2001 and, 15 years later, left the organization, remaining with only a minority share of the shares, as did Dana White. Even with Dana White's confirmed stay, the new owners of the UFC have not yet officially confirmed the name of the company's new CEO.
