Dana White continues his project to expand the UFC brand around the world. The president of the organization called, on Tuesday afternoon (15), a press conference to publicize the franchise's new plans.
Among the revelations, The Ultimate Fighter (TUF), the UFC's reality show, will be recorded in several countries around the world with local athletes.
“The Ultimate Fighter will begin recording in each country. Let's do The Ultimate Fighter UK, The Ultimate Fighter Canada, The Ultimate Fighter Brazil, and The Ultimate Fighter Philippines. Let’s do this and cultivate new talents”, said the top hat, who revealed which country was chosen to start the project.
“I'm sure the first one will most likely be in the Philippines, later this year,” said Dana.
The Philippine market has been a longtime desire of the UFC, where the promotion has been planning to hold a stage of the event since 2009. Among the 256 fighters with a current contract with the organization, only middleweight Mark Muñoz was born in the Philippines, despite residing and training in the U.S.
