Strikeforce: Pezão puts on a show and knocks out Fedor

Antonio Pezão made history at Strikeforce, an event that took place in the early hours of this Sunday (13), in East Rutherford, in the United States. The Brazilian controlled the actions in front of Fedor Emelianenko, defeated the Russian by technical knockout, and dealt the second consecutive setback in the career of the greatest heavyweight of all time. To complete the Tupiniquim party, Igor Gracie submitted John Salgado and debuted with the right foot in Strikeforce.

Pezão started the confrontation better, waiting for Fedor's initiative to counterattack. Using his greater reach, the Brazilian connected the most powerful blows and had a slight advantage in the initial round. In the second round, Silva returned ready to end the fight and in the first few moves he knocked down Emelianenko. Russian Sergei Kharitonov is the first fighter to qualify for the Strikeforce GP semifinals. Before the Belarusian Andrei Arlovski, Kharitonov began the fight by marking the center of the octagon, while his opponent took the initiative in the fight. But with a right counterattack, Kharitonov connected with Arlovski's face which was the knockdown, Serguei wasted no time and with three more punches on the ground he knocked out the former UFC champion.

Shane Del Rosario submits Lavar Johnson
In the last reserve fight of the night, Shane del Rosario put on a show and maintained his unbeaten MMA record with another beautiful performance. The North American started the fight by releasing his striking and landing good blows on Lavar Johnson, who, without being able to find himself in the fight on his feet, took the duel to the ground. But Rosario managed to get up and then take down Johnson, from then on, Shane reached mount and at the end of the round he secured a fair arm-bar, ending the dispute.

In an electrifying fight, Griggs knocks out Villante

Chad Griggs and Gian Villante they had a short but amazing fight. With frank exchanges, the fighters unleashed their game and brought the audience to their feet. Right at the beginning of the fight, Villante started better and even opened a deep cut on his opponent's ear, but Griggs recovered and with a powerful right cross he knocked Gian down. With his opponent on the ground, Chad Griggs used ground and pound and forced the referee to stop the fight.

Valentijn Overeem finishes quickly

In the first fight on the main card, Valentijn Overeem didn't want to risk Ray Sefo's dangerous striking. Right at the beginning of the fight, the Dutchman attacked Ray's legs and took the duel to the ground. With a passed guard, Overeem secured a choke and ended the fight.

Igor Gracie finishes on debut

The first Brazilian to enter the Octagon, Igor Gracie made his debut in Strikeforce on the right foot. Facing John Salgado, the Brazilian black belt didn't want to take any chances with striking and tried to take the fight to the ground. After controlling the duel in the first round, Igor landed a fair hand triangle and ended the fight.
