UFC president Dana White did not hide his disappointment with the bombshell news that Jon Jones, the main star of UFC 200, was caught taking an anti-doping test and is therefore out of the event.

The fact became public in the early hours of this Thursday (7), when the UFC itself announced that Jones had failed a surprise exam carried out in mid-June, in the middle of his training period. Visibly irritated by the episode, the organization's top leader participated in a press conference, in which he gave details about what he already knows about the subject.

“I still don’t know [what happened]. Obviously, he has the chance to prove his innocence before being found guilty. But, if it is true, it is extremely disappointing”, lamented White, in an excerpt reproduced by the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

Even though he lost the main fight of one of the biggest events ever held by the UFC at the last minute, White defended the organization's anti-doping policy with USADA, the World Anti-Doping Agency. “This is how things should be. We have the best anti-doping program in all of sports, and that's how it should be. I still don't know what will happen, but Jones might get two years [of suspension] for this. Let’s see,” he explained.

Finally, White also showed solidarity with Daniel Cormier, who would have his long-awaited rematch against Jones for the unification of the light heavyweight belt. “This is devastating news for Daniel Cormier. Not only mentally and physically, he just went through a period of training, and financially, as this pay-per-view must be huge and he would have a cut of the sales amount. He is devastated,” he noted.

With Jones' departure from UFC 200, the attraction's new main fight will be between heavyweights Mark Hunt e Brock Lesnar. The event takes place this Saturday (9), in the city of Las Vegas, in the United States.
