Ryan Jimmo, a former UFC fighter who died tragically at the end of last month, had proposed to his girlfriend hours before he was run over in a parking lot in the city of Edmonton, Canada.
The revelation was made by Roxie Reece, the fighter's girlfriend, who gave details of the night of terror he experienced on June 26th in an interview with the Canadian website “CBC”. The woman, who had been in a relationship with the athlete since the end of April, was in a cinema hours before the tragedy, watching the film “Independence Day – The Resurgence”, when she heard Jimmo's request.

“He said to me, 'Honey, you are the most beautiful woman I have ever seen in this world. I love you so much. I want to marry you and have children with you.' I said, 'OK, honey, let's do it! It will be incredible”, detailed Roxie.
After leaving the cinema, the couple went for a walk around Edmonton when Jimmo realized he was being chased by a pickup truck. According to Roxie's testimony, the fighter stopped to let the other vehicle overtake him, but the truck continued to follow him closely.
Then, both cars stopped in a parking lot, with Jimmo confronting the occupants of the other vehicle (two men). When he was returning to his car, the Canadian was deliberately run over.
Roxie revealed that she was desperate about what happened, also due to the fact that she was unable to call an ambulance – she didn't have her cell phone with her, and Jimmo's device was blocked.
“At that moment, I felt the greatest fear I have ever experienced in my life. I felt helpless. I lay down next to Ryan and told him, 'Come on, baby, you can do it. You can fight. I am here.' It’s important to me that people know that Ryan wasn’t alone,” said his girlfriend.
Jimmo, who was 34 years old, succumbed to his injuries and died on the way to the hospital. The men suspected of the crime were arrested less than a week after the incident.
