UFC President Dana White and the fighter Nate diaz They have had their disagreements in the past. The relationship between the two gained a curious chapter at the beginning of the month, with the release of a video in which Diaz slaps the leader in the face. However, White himself made a point of clarifying that it was he who asked the fighter to hit him.

In recent months, White and Diaz were unable to reach a consensus regarding negotiations for a rematch against Conor McGregor. Thus, the manager traveled to Stockton, Diaz's hometown, to continue the talks, which had a successful outcome with the confirmation of the fight for August.
White revealed that, in the middle of the conversations, he surprised Diaz with the request. “What happened was we were going back to the arena and we were in Crenshaw [neighborhood of Los Angeles], and there was a place called Tuf Motel. I told us to park there because I wanted Nate to slap me. Nate looked at me like 'what the f***?' You should have seen his face when he said that. Then we stopped the car and he started slapping him”, he commented, in conversation with the “UFC Unfiltered” podcast.
The “Stockton Slap”, or “Stockton Slap”, became famous because Diaz had already used it in several of his fights. Thus, White stated that the request for the slap was made especially because it was Diaz, so the chance will not be given to any other fighter. “Trust me: if I gave them that chance, they would line up for days,” he joked.
Diaz, who defeated McGregor by submission in March, will have his second fight against the Irishman on August 20, in Las Vegas (USA), in the main fight of UFC 202.
