The soap opera involving the future of the former UFC champion Georges St Pierre may be near the end. The Canadian revealed that, while negotiating his return to Ultimate, he already considers himself fully prepared to fight again, and he has an opponent in mind: the middleweight champion, Michael Bisping.

St. Pierre has not fought since November 2013, when he defended the UFC welterweight (77 kg) belt. Since then, GSP abandoned the belt and dedicated himself to other activities, but now, at 35 years of age, he is preparing to return to fighting for good.
“That’s what I’m saying: I’m ready. I'm an emotional guy. My managers told me not to make any announcements, that we are still in negotiations, but I'm an emotional guy. When I get emotional, I say things that are good for my interests. I love my sport and I still feel like I'm in top shape. Time is passing and I'm not getting any younger. I'm at my peak and, if I have a chance, I better take it now”, declared the former champion, in an interview with the podcast “The MMA Hour”.
Even though he fought his entire career at welterweight, GSP projects a return to the top division, middleweight (84 kg). This is because the Canadian was challenged by Bisping, current weight champion, with whom he shares the absolute record for number of UFC victories (19). “There are two things I'm proud of: my welterweight belt and the record for most wins in the UFC. And now I have someone who is challenging me on this, which is Michael Bisping. He's bigger than me, but I believe I'm more skilled, more athletic and I'm more intelligent. The world doesn't revolve around me, but if it's a fight they want to do, they have a phone. They can call my manager so we can make a deal,” she commented.
