New UFC middleweight champion, Michael Bisping is already beginning to plan its first title defense in the category. Henderson delivered a brutal knockout to Bisping at UFC 100, in 2009. After both won at UFC 199, the American veteran proposed a rematch, and Bisping liked the idea.
“Of course, there were conversations about Dan Henderson, which kind of came out of nowhere. He posted it on Twitter and it seems to have had repercussions. Of course it's a fight I would love. There was no offer or anything like that, but I would take it because everyone remembers UFC 100, with Henderson diving on my KO head. So, I would like to put him in his place”, he commented, in an interview with the podcast “The MMA Hour”.
Another opponent considered by Bisping is Georges St Pierre, with whom he shares the record for wins in UFC history (19 for each). “Fight with Georges St Pierre It would be great, and it would be worth the title of fighter with the most victories in UFC history. That alone would be worth a great promotion, and the numbers would be fantastic, as he is an attraction in his own right. I want to defend my belt and make as much money as I can, so I would be open to sending Georges St Pierre back on a film set, because it's a fight I would definitely win. If GSP is listening, be a man and sign on the dotted line, because his return will be short-lived”, he provoked.
