One of the most talked about aspects of the defeat of Luke Rockhold for Michael Bisping in the main fight of UFC 199, last Saturday (04), it was the posture of the then middleweight champion, who seemed disinterested and with a certain arrogance in the octagon. In the press conference after the knockout suffered by Bisping, which cost him the title, Rockhold confirmed that he did not correctly measure the threat that the Briton could represent, and ended up paying the price for it.

“I was underestimating Michael Bisping. The defeat had nothing to do with my knee. Not only did I underestimate him, I overvalued my jab. It was stupid, because I thought he had nothing to threaten me with. I should have been who I always was in the Octagon. I was caught because I thought he wouldn't threaten me in any way,” said the former champion.

PUBLICITY:

When asked about Bisping's knockout power, once widely criticized, Rockhold was emphatic and guaranteed that any athlete can knock out as long as he lands a clean blow. ” The question is not how hard you hit, but where you land the blow. If you hit the right spot at the right time, the fight is over. I connected with a jab and moved away, leaving my chin exposed. He noticed and hit me right on the tip of the chin. I thought I was controlling the fight and he caught me. There's nothing I want more than a revenge against Michael Bisping. I want this more than earning my black belt”, she concluded.
