The UFC's lightweight division will meet its definitive champion on May 24, in Las Vegas, during UFC 85. According to the organization's president, Dana White, the Hawaiian B.J. Penn, who dominated Joe Stevenson last Saturday at UFC 80, will have to defend his interim belt against former champion Sean Serk, who only lost his position due to being caught in an anti-doping test.
Penn, who had said that he would not face the American wrestler if he was not cleared, seems to have backtracked and confirmed the duel, shortly after Sherk had entered the ring saying that he did not respect him and that the belt was his. UFC 85 must have the participation of at least two Brazilians, the undefeated Thiago Silva e Lyoto Machida must face Rashad evans e Tito Ortizrespectively.
