In a New Year's Eve atmosphere, the city of Las Vegas hosts UFC-125 tonight. The first event of 2011 features as its main attraction the fight for the lightweight belt, where the current champion, Frankie Edgar will defend his kingdom before Gray Maynard. The winner of this confrontation will face Anthony Pettis, WEC champion, to unify the organizations' titles.
The fight program also features two Brazilians in action. Acting on the preliminary card, Diego nunes will make his UFC debut, after the event's merger with the WEC, against the beast Mike Thomas Brown, in a fight in the featherweight division. On the main card, in the light heavyweight category, Thiago Silva, fully recovered from a series of injuries, faces the veteran Brandon vera.
