Rival questions Thominhas' record: 'Who did he fight with?'

Cody Garbrandt minimizes the Brazilian's trajectory, exalts his skills and projects a knockout in the first round in Las Vegas

UFC Fight Night 88, this Sunday (29), will pit two of the biggest rising names in the bantamweight division face to face. Undefeated in professional MMA, cody garbrandt e Thomas almeida they will have a duel of promises in Las Vegas (USA), in which one of them will experience their first defeat. The North American, however, minimized the Brazilian's trajectory and questioned his record.

Thominhas has a record of 21 wins in 21 fights, while Garbrandt won all eight of his fights. Despite the numerical difference, “No Love” does not find itself at a disadvantage. “He has a 21-0 record, but who has he fought? Maybe I haven't faced anyone either, but I wouldn't inflate my record just to be 21-0. Everyone just looks at that, at his record and his 24 years. But you can't forget that I'm a better martial artist than him. I’m better at jiu-jitsu, I’m better at standing, and that’s my main strength”, he commented, in an interview with the website of the North American broadcaster “FOX Sports”.

As for Sunday's fight, Garbrandt exuded confidence. “I see a knockout in the first round. He usually starts slow and I'll pick him up. This is how I fight. I’m hungry and I’m going to fight to achieve this,” he projected.
