UFC 198 proved its reputation as the biggest MMA event ever organized in Brazil and also established itself as one of the biggest events held by Ultimate. The attraction in Curitiba (PR) recorded the third largest audience in UFC history, only behind events that also took place in stadiums.
In total, 45,207 people attended the Arena da Baixada to watch the fights up close Fabricio Werdum, Ronaldo Jacare, Vitor belfort, Chris Cyborg, Mauritius Shogun and company.
Only two events had a larger audience. The record belongs to UFC 193, held in November 2015 in Melbourne, Australia. On that occasion, 56 thousand fans watched the surprising victory of Holly holm about Ronda Rousey.
The other event was UFC 129, in April 2011, which had 55 thousand people at the Rogers Center in Toronto (Canada), when Georges St Pierre hit Jake Shields to defend the welterweight title.
