After losing an unbeaten streak of seven fights after being defeated by Jake ellenberger at UFC Live 2, the North American John howard seeks to rediscover the winning path this Saturday (11) at UFC 124. His opponent will be the Brazilian Thiago "Pitbull" Alves, former contender for the organization's welterweight belt.
Given this new challenge in his career, Howard considers the fight against “Pitbull” an excellent opportunity to grow within the UFC and be among the best fighters in the category.
“I'm happy to face Alves as he is one of the most complete athletes in the UFC. I believe that the pressure of victory is not on me, as I am considered the underdog of this fight,” he said.
The American also stated that this weekend's clash will be a duel between similar fighting styles. “Doomsday”, as he is nicknamed, guaranteed that he is prepared for the difficulties that “Pitbull” may offer him inside the Octagon.
“I know all the tricks of Muay Thai. I hope the fight takes place completely standing up so that I can put into practice everything I've trained”, highlighted Howard.
In addition to “Pitbull”, three other Brazilians will be in action this Saturday at UFC 124. Check out the complete card of this edition below, which will have as its main attraction the welterweight belt fight between the current champion Georges St-Pierre and the challenger Josh koscheck.
