Scott Smith wants to face “Cyborg” in 2011

Former WEC light heavyweight champion, Scott Smith, will make his debut in the Strikeforce welterweight category tonight (04) when facing the Englishman Paul Daley on the main card of Strikeforce: Henderson vs Babalu. The fighter, who has achieved 14 of his 17 career victories by knockout, foresees a big fight soon and recognizes the potential of his next opponent.

“Paul Daley is certainly one of the most dangerous fighters I could face. He has sharp striking, in addition to being a very technical athlete”, he highlighted. 

If he wins tonight, Smith will be included in a select group of potential challengers for the organization's welterweight belt, which is currently held by his compatriot Nick Diaz. But the athlete has other plans in mind for his future in Strikeforce.

“I would like to face (Evangelista) 'Cyborg' in 2011. I believe this would be a matchup that the fans would like to see,” Smith said.
