Less than a day after his sudden departure from UFC 198, in Curitiba (PR), Anderson Silva already plans the date of his next fight. The former champion hopes to be able to fight on the historic UFC 200 card, an event that will take place on July 9, in Las Vegas (USA).
The person who guarantees this is “Spider’s” physical trainer, Rogério Camões. According to “Rogerão”, the 41-year-old fighter was not put off by the health problems that prevented him from fighting in the capital of Paraná. “Thank God, everything is fine now. He said to me: 'Master, get ready because we're going to [UFC] 200. So, your mind is good, which is the most important thing. He didn’t get demotivated, so that already takes away the weight of the worry about him becoming demotivated”, said Camões, in an interview with the website “Portal do Vale Tudo”.
Even though he was already thinking about the fighter's return, Camões admits that he was dejected by Anderson's departure from UFC 198. “It was really surprising, because the last training session he did was on Monday (9) night. He performed very well. We said goodbye and were supposed to meet in Curitiba on Tuesday morning. When I arrived, I received the news that he went to the hospital, with a lot of stomach pain. It was news that… My house collapsed. For him, this was a personal achievement”, he lamented.
Anderson, born in São Paulo but raised in Curitiba, would face Uriah Hall in the third most important fight of the night. However, the fighter suffered gallbladder inflammation and had to undergo emergency surgery. Anderson is expected to be cleared to return to training within a month.
