UFC-80: Werdum surpasses Napão once again. BJ wins belt

UFC-80 recently ended in Newcastle, England. In the confrontation of Brazilians, Fabricio Werdum, surprised the English public, and after a disadvantage in the first round, won Gabriel Napao, by technical knockout in the second round. The gaucho repeated the result of the Jungle Fight, in 2003, when he also beat the Rio native by TKO. Another Brazilian in action was Wilson Gouveia who knocked out Jason Lambert 37 seconds into the second round.

In the main fight of the event, valid for the vacant lightweight title (up to 70kg), since Sean Sherk's suspension for doping, the Hawaiian B.J. Penn he ran over Joe Stevenson, submitting the American with a rear naked choke in the second round, becoming the second man to become UFC champion in two different UFC categories.
