Internet fund raises R$70 for fighter who had his leg amputated

Bellator fighter Jordan Parsons, victim of a run over last Sunday (01) and who ended up with part of his leg as a result, has been receiving solidarity from countless fans and members of the MMA community. A fund created by the athlete's own family on the internet has already raised practically US$20 (around R$70, at current prices) to cover medical expenses.

The initiative, developed through the specialized platform GoFundMe, received more than 200 donations in less than 24 hours on air, reaching the initially stipulated goal. The fund was widely supported by Bellator fighters and athletes from Blackzilians, where Parsons trained, who leveraged the campaign's reach.

The accident

This Sunday (01), in Del Ray Beach (Florida), Bellator fighter Jordan Parsons left his home to go to the pharmacy. However, during his journey, he was hit by a car, whose driver fled the scene without providing assistance. Taken to hospital, Jordan had to have part of his amputated right leg amputated. The Blackzilians athlete is still hospitalized in serious condition.
