After doping and fight, Brandão is fired from UFC

The TUF champion's career in Ultimate did not resist the controversies in which the fighter was recently involved

The latest events involving Diego Brandao they were quite expensive for the Brazilian. After being caught taking an anti-doping test and participating in a disturbance in the city of Albuquerque (USA), the TUF 14 champion ended up being fired from the UFC.

The news was first reported by the North American websites “Sherdog” and “MMA Fighting”. Brandão was first caught with marijuana at UFC 195 in January, an event in which he was defeated by Brian ortega by completion.

On the 15th of this month, the Brazilian fighter was involved in a fight in a nightclub in Albuquerque. According to city press reports, the confusion began when Diego left the establishment and tried to return inside the place shortly afterwards. Unable to do so, the Brazilian got angry, grabbed a gun and hit a nightclub employee with it.

Brandão is 28 years old and has been in the UFC since 2011. The Ceará native is a training partner of the organization's interim champion Jon Jones, who has also recently been involved in several problems with the law in Albuquerque. His record within the UFC is six wins and four losses.
