The public in general did not show great satisfaction with the performance of Jon Jones in the main fight of UFC 197, last Saturday (23). Even though the North American has completely dominated Ovince St Preux and defeated in the judges' decision, his performance ended up being criticized – and it seems that the team itself and Jones agree with the analyses.

During the event, the UFC positioned cameras in the fighters' corner, and what we saw was Greg Jackson, Jones' main trainer, showing slight dissatisfaction with his pupil's performance in the octagon.

In the first two rounds, Jackson commented to the other coaches that Jones was too relaxed. “He seems a little scattered tonight. We can't play this game. Play more, Jon!” he said.

Shortly after, at halftime, Jackson instructed the athlete: “Let's find the gaps. You need to loosen up a little because everything is stuck,” he advised. Without seeing results in the third round, the coach insisted: “You need to relax. You are winning the fight, but you need to open up a little more. Believe. I guarantee you that your gas is there. Just believe,” he said.

In the last round, Jackson warned Jones that St. Preux could go all out to try to steal the victory. “This is the most dangerous moment of the fight. I want you to fall for it. Let’s take him down,” he shouted.

However, after the fight ended, Jackson criticized Jones' performance. “Keep lifting weights it's a problem. He gets tired. I just wanted to say 'I told you so'”, added the coach.

Despite the dissatisfaction, Jones recorded his 22nd victory in professional MMA, against only one defeat. Now as interim champion of the category, the athlete will have to unify the light heavyweight title against Daniel Cormier still this year.

Fatal change? Makhachev ignores warning and could end tragically at welterweight!
