Jon Jones is less than a week away from competing for the interim light heavyweight belt against Ovince St Preux, but the former champion did not forget the linear title holder and his great rival Daniel Cormier not even in these circumstances. In an interview, Jones said that Cormier is not injured and that he left the rematch between them simply because he wanted to.

“I wasn’t in the gym with him when he got injured. But I've heard rumors that he was injured, not seriously injured. And giving up a fight because he has an injury doesn't make sense. I have pain and small cracks all over my body, but that's the price you pay for being an elite athlete. You struggle with these things”, said Jones, to the North American channel “ESPN”.
