Although the UFC's women's bantamweight division has been experiencing an intense moment recently, with two changes of champion in the last six months, the former title holder Ronda Rousey continues to have high prestige. The organization's president, Dana White, guaranteed that “Rowdy” will compete for the division's belt in his return fight to the Octagon.

Holly holm, weight champion between November 2015 and March this year, said she believed the UFC was planning a rematch between her and Ronda. However, White clarified that the former queen of the category will return to fight for the belt, perhaps at UFC 205, which takes place on November 12th in New York. The current champion is Miesha Tate, who will defend the title against Amanda nunes at UFC 200.
“Ronda is definitely part of the plans [for the UFC in New York] and she will fight whoever has the title. What's cool about the women's bantamweight category is that everyone has a fight scheduled. The only exception is Holly. Miesha will depend on how she goes against Nunes – who is very, very tough. If she wins quickly and comes out 100% healthy, she will be able to fight again and then fight Ronda”, said the manager, in an interview with the North American broadcaster “ESPN”.
Ronda was the first champion of the category, between January 2013 and November 2015. At that time, the fighter lost her unbeaten record when she was knocked out by Holm. The new champion, however, was unable to defend the belt, as she was dethroned by Tate shortly afterwards.
