Miesha's manager denies refusing Holm: 'Fight was never offered'

Josh Jones denies statements made by the former champion's agent and claims that Amanda Nunes was the best athlete available

The manager of the UFC bantamweight champion, Miesha Tate, went public to deny rumors that his client had refused a rematch with Holly holm for UFC 200, an event that will take place on July 9th, in Las Vegas (USA).

Lenny Fresquez, the former champion's agent, revealed in an interview that the UFC proposed an immediate rematch to the fight that took place on March 5, but that the new title holder had opted to face Amanda nunes. Josh Jones, who follows Miesha's career, vehemently denied it.

“A fight with Holly holm was never discussed when we met with the UFC. We all agree that Miesha should face the best available, and right now, it's Amanda nunes, who comes from three consecutive victories”, he clarified, in an interview with the North American website “MMA Fighting”.

In March, Holm made his first title defense against Tate. In the last round, when she had an advantage on the scorecards, the then champion ended up caught in a rear naked choke and was submitted.
