'I'm prepared to sacrifice everything to beat Jones,' says St. Preux

Ovince St Preux He wants to embrace with all his might the opportunity that has arisen to face the greatest pound-for-pound fighter of our time. On April 23rd, the Haitian faces Jon Jones for the interim light heavyweight belt in the main fight of UFC 197, in Las Vegas (USA).

Even though he is a clear underdog for the duel, St. Preux stated that he has worked hard on his psychological side to enter with all the momentum with an eye on victory. “Every time I wake up, I talk to myself about beating Jones. Every time I go to sleep, I repeat the same thing. I'm dreaming about it. Every movie I watch tells me I'm fighting for glory. If I doubt myself, I've already lost the fight before entering the Octagon. I’m doing a lot of imagination exercises, and my hand is always raised at the end,” he explained, in an interview with “The MMA Hour” podcast.

Another challenge for OSP will be the limited preparation time, as he was called up for the fight with less than three weeks to go. However, he does not see this as a problem. “I'm feeling very confident. My coaches are putting me in difficult positions in training, and it will be like that for the next two weeks. I'm prepared for that. Fights like this don't come around often, and I want to enjoy it. I am prepared to sacrifice everything,” he added.
