In a video released by the website “TMZ”, the police officer appears asking for Jones' license, whom he accuses of being involved in a race with his car, a white Corvette. The fighter laughs and says that the accusations made by the police officer were not true: “I know, with absolute certainty, that I wasn't pulling a fast one”, he countered.

Then the officer asks Jones if the fighter would like to say anything else for the camera to record. “We both know that I wasn’t pulling a fast one”, explains the athlete, being interrupted by the police officer: “Don’t say what I know! I saw you taking a break.”

Jones brushes it off: “We both know I wasn’t pulling a fast one. I just stepped on the accelerator and made noise at the red light, but I was in no way running. Neither I nor the car next to me were running. You’re a f***ing liar,” he fumed.

While writing the ticket, Jones asked the officer, “How do you sleep at night?”, hearing an ironic response from the officer. “Sometimes on my left side, sometimes on my stomach.” Finally, the fighter curses more: “I can't wait to get out of here. You are a despicable, disgusting pig”, shouts Jones, hearing a response worthy of the police officer. “I feel the same way about you. The feeling is mutual.”

This Monday (28), Jones gave an interview to the website “MMA Fighting” explaining his version of the events. “I was definitely not having a split. I got angry and said things I shouldn't say to a police officer. I stopped at a traffic light and some fans came up to me. As I didn't want to get out and talk, I just sped up and made noise with my car. But I wasn’t running”, explained the athlete, who received five fines for the incident.

Jones, 28 years old, lost his UFC belt last year precisely because of a traffic problem. In April, the American crossed a red light and hit a car driven by a pregnant woman. Jones fled the scene without providing assistance. Therefore, the UFC stripped him of his title and suspended him. Now, Jones will return to fighting on April 23, at UFC 197, when he will try to regain the belt against Daniel Cormier.
