The indecision regarding the fate of the featherweight category, “at a standstill” since the victory of Conor McGregor about José Aldo in December last year, combined with strong rumors about a rematch between the Irishman and Nate diaz in the welterweight division for UFC 200 left the number one contender angry Frankie Edgar and your team. In an interview, the fighter's manager, Ali Abdel-Aziz, spared no criticism of McGregor and said that the title holder is running away from a fight against Edgar.

“History speaks for itself. Frankie Edgar He will be remembered as the guy who fought anyone at any weight, anytime, anywhere. But when we talk about Conor McGregor, he will go down in history as someone who handpicks his opponents, prefers to face guys out of shape and he ran from Frankie (Edgar). I don't respect a champion who runs away from his challengers. That’s it!”, wrote Abdel-Aziz, on his profile on Instagram.

And the agent didn't stop there. He also cited the sporting aspect to justify his indignation. “Every member of the media I've spoken to and most fans want to see Edgar vs. McGregor, but McGregor's coaches, since he lost to the Nate diaz, they talk about everyone except Frankie in the interviews”, he said.

Finally, Abdel-Aziz also blamed the UFC and said that the organization is not holding the duel due to a lack of self-interest. “And at this point, I blame the UFC for not making this fight happen, because it's really up to them and they can make Conor fight Frankie. I'm fed up with this. It's been very difficult over the last four months, negotiating to make this fight happen, but now I realize that the only person who needs to come out and say they want to fight Frankie is Conor. But I don't believe he wants to, because everyone knows Frankie is going to beat him up,” he concluded.
