The possibility of Conor McGregor e Nate diaz doing a rematch at UFC 200 in July was widely criticized by the public, with Diaz himself not being very excited about the idea. The American classified the rumor as “crazy” and questioned the reasons for the UFC to give the Irishman the chance to erase the setback.

Diaz and McGregor faced each other at UFC 196 at the beginning of the month. After a difficult first round, Nate grew in the second round and finished the fight with a rear naked choke, giving the Irishman his first defeat inside the Octagon.
In an interview with “Rolling Stone” magazine, Diaz said he understood the reasons behind the plans, but criticized the possibility. “I've already lost several decisions and to this day I've never had a rematch. So, it's crazy. Conor was overcome and now they want a rematch to happen. It makes sense, I understand. I just think it's funny because José Aldo there was no rematch,” he said, referring to the fight in which McGregor knocked out the Brazilian to win the UFC featherweight belt, in December last year.
In fact, Diaz only had one rematch in his career, when he was able to return the defeat he suffered to Gray Maynard in 2010. Their second meeting took place in 2013, and Diaz won by technical knockout. The fight with McGregor has not been officially confirmed.
