TJ Dillashaw wants rematch with Brazilian Raphael Assunção

Former bantamweight champion said he would like to face his UFC Barueri tormentor again in 2013

Defeated by Dominick Cruz in the bantamweight title fight in January and with no chance of an immediate rematch, as the champion will now face Urijah faber, TJ Dillashaw You already know who you want to face next. In an interview, Dillashaw said that he would like to meet another opponent he was defeated by in the octagon, the Brazilian Raphael Assunção.

“I think the fight that makes sense for me is against the Raphael Assunção. I know he's been dealing with injuries for a while, but since he beat me by split decision in 2013, it would be cool to get that win back,” Dillashaw said, on the website of the North American TV channel “ESPN”.

At 30, TJ Dillashaw has a professional record of 12 wins and three losses. Duane “Bang” Ludwig’s protégé faced Raphael Assunção in 2013, at UFC Barueri, and was defeated by the Brazilian in a split decision, which was highly contested by him and his team at the time.
