To overcome times of adversity, someone with experience in great victories and some tragic defeats gave his advice to UFC athletes: Mike Tyson.
The former world boxing champion first advised Ronda, who even claimed to have suffered from depression after the setback to Holm. The former fighter spoke about Rousey's ego and predicted that the blonde will defeat Miesha Tate, who at UFC 196 took the belt from Holly.
“Look, you say that, but it's just your ego getting bruised, that's all. We pick up the pieces, we realize that it is discipline and that we have to fix some mistakes we made to increase our desire. Life goes on. She'll be ready to fight that girl (Miesha Tate), who just won Holly holm and, most likely, he will beat her,” Tyson said on 'The Jim Rome Show'.
As for McGregor, Mike Tyson believes that the Irishman, who moved up two categories to face Nate diaz, – from the division up to 66 kg. for up to 77 kg. – made this climb too quickly and ended up paying for it. He also assured that Conor will learn from his mistakes and come back even stronger.
“I think he moved up in weight too quickly and that he fought the wrong guy at that weight. It's something that happens when you struggle and everyone has to learn from their mistakes. That’s what the fight is, learning from our mistakes, improving who we are and not giving up.”
