Appointed as the next challenger for the UFC featherweight belt, Frankie Edgar will watch carefully the fight between Conor McGregor, category champion, and Nate diaz, this Saturday (5), at UFC 196.

Edgar considers that, despite McGregor being considered the favorite for the fight, Diaz is fully capable of surprising and frustrating the Irishman's game. "I do not know, dude. I think Nate could get there and ruin the party, and then McGregor will have to return to featherweight. I think this is the best case scenario. I believe he has a real chance. Its pressure and volume are difficult for anyone to handle. Conor's greatest weapon is his reach, and he won't have that advantage in the fight. Lefty against lefty, I think a lot can happen there”, said Edgar, in an interview with the podcast “The MMA Hour”.

PUBLICITY:

Despite being featherweight champion (up to 66 kg), McGregor will fight against Diaz two categories above, at welterweight (up to 77 kg). The fight will headline UFC 196.
